Hear about the Alabama Action Coalition for Transit (ACT) a non-partisan, volunteer alliance of individuals and organizations urging dependable access to life necessities and amenities via sustainable mobility for all. ACT sees robust public transit as vital to opportunity, economic and social justice, and a livable world. They invite endorsement and advocacy by citizens and organizations seeking a better Alabama for all!

We will also discuss Sierrans for Alabama. Since the Sierra Club dismantled its Alabama operations, our communities have been left without the staffing, structure, or resources we need to protect our environment and our future. This year the Sierra Club refused to support ACT's efforts to pass a public transportation funding bill, SB 11. Without Sierra Club's support this legislation died in committee.

Sierrans for Alabama is stepping in to uphold the Sierra Club’s democracy, values, and mission because Alabama deserves better.

Join us for a Birmingham strategy meeting on Thursday, July 10 at 7PM CT where we'll:

  • Learn about ACT's public transit advocacy

  • Learn about Sierrans for Alabama's efforts to rebuild Sierra Club's political advocacy in Alabama

  • Discuss opportunities to join and support their efforts

This is your opportunity to shape a just and inclusive future for environmental advocacy in Alabama that is rooted in integrity, equity, and community.
