2025 Alabama Chapter Election: Check Your Membership and Get Involved

The Alabama Chapter of the Sierra Club will soon hold elections for its Executive Committee (ExCom), the member-led body that helps guide the direction of the Chapter and ensure it remains true to Sierra Club’s grassroots values and mission. Sierrans for Alabama is calling on Sierra Club members to elect candidates who support our petition and are committed to democratic values, inclusion, and robust environmental advocacy.

This fall, Chapter members will vote to elect four at-large representatives who will serve on the ExCom for the 2026–2027 term. The ExCom plays a vital role in shaping the Chapter’s priorities, supporting volunteer leadership, and strengthening environmental advocacy across Alabama. This is why Sierrans for Alabama is encouraging our supporters to vote and get involved. By electing ExCom members who support our petition, we can accelerate efforts to reclaim and rebuild Sierra Club's environmental campaigns in Alabama.

📅 Key Election Dates

• October 31, 2025: Deadline to be a dues-paying member and submit nominations

• November 1: Nominations close

• November 15 – December 15: Voting period

• January 3, 2026: Newly elected ExCom members announced

To vote or run as a candidate, you must be an active dues-paying Sierra Club member by October 31, 2025.
